I have just downloaded a Sonic the Hedgehog 3D model for 3ds max.
I haven't touched it at all, but whenever i move it, his body moves, but his head stays in place.
How do i attach his body together.

P.S. I would also like help for making him move.

I know i am a noob.

complicated stuff for a beginner, that model, if you want it to move needs to be rigged, need to have bone's setup, i would recommend that you leave that stuff alone for now and concentrate on smaller stuff, some simple modeling and animation. If you want, you can google some pretty decent rigging tutorials that should help you getting started with that model.

Is the head a separate piece of geometry? Is it linked to the body?

Ok seen as you are a "noob" I recommend the following.

Read the help file that comes with max, it contains tons of tutorials. 3D is not easy it requires time and practice to become good. It seems you are interested in animation. I would recommend learning about the principals of animation and try and apply that to a ball. Make the ball bounce around in an environment. You could try using to modifiers to stretch and squash the ball. You will be amazed at how much character a simple object can have.

The next step would be to download a good rig and learn to animate that.

Then and only then should you attempt to rig a model and animate it. It would also be good to model your own character instead of using someone else's.

Hope this helps.
