the issue is in our code that checks the images before we allow them to be stored on the server. Please support us and post a [Link to www.digitalartsfront.com] on your website.
If anyone other than +VarnishedOtter broke it we'd be mad. So im glad it was him.
If Jamie broke it we'd all be saying, "Why?!?" or better yet, "How!!??!"
Yep thats right, and I also never forget to fix the htaccess file either haha Please support us and post a [Link to www.digitalartsfront.com] on your website.
I don't know if any of this is related to recent image problems.
I just tried to upload an image to "Problems with "Connect" command button and Connect" the image hasn't shown up.
SpitfireMKV said it took a very long time to upload the original image. After thinking about it I went back and looked at the file size. 477kb.
Could that be the reason?
Also, I've noticed when I save a file from any post I can't open it in photoshop. I get a message, "unknown or invalid JPEG marker type found"
All this may be irreverent considering V3 coming soon.
Chris
In v2, when images are displayed on the forum they are actually PNG's in disguise. That is why they wont work if you upload one that has already been uploaded.
In v3 it is switched over to jpg output again. Essentially if it will open in photoshop, it will work on the forum. Please support us and post a [Link to www.digitalartsfront.com] on your website.
Yea we need to do something about dupe images in v3 before release man Please support us and post a [Link to www.digitalartsfront.com] on your website.
yea if i upload an image to the forum and then to my portfolio it fails because of the dupe and I dont feel like renaming ever time. Also if i delete and image and upload one with the same name it happens also because we dont really delete the file. Please support us and post a [Link to www.digitalartsfront.com] on your website.
We store images under user name dirs and then link them in the db. It isn't quite as simple as you might think. Please support us and post a [Link to www.digitalartsfront.com] on your website.
We will probably do that in the backend, but also retain the original filename in the database for display. Please support us and post a [Link to www.digitalartsfront.com] on your website.
