I don't actually know for sure but from what I read about the "refused classification" verdict it would seem that the game isnt actually
banned but rather not commercial available. I guess if you can install and run it you should be able to activate it right?. I dunno.
It sucks alright. it sounds like if they had made the story that these "infected" humans were actually undead instead of merely sick with a virus the whole thing could have been avoided. Still, you have to ask what actual difference will there be. I mean, in fallout 3 it was refused classification until they changed the name of a few drugs such as "morphine" becoming "morpha" (you could almost hear the kiddies in their spelling test saying "but its spelt morpha! in fallout miss".) It would be really crap if they removed the whole tech of different limbs coming off the zombies but if its some other less apparent change Its still going to be a good game right? do you know what has been changed for the watered down version?.

the full version isn't banned its just been refused classification, so it cant be sold here. i dunno the law about importing it i dont really care anyway cause i will do it. but i dont want to import it and then find out i cant activate it on steam because i'm in australia.

the whole ratings board is so screwed up. infected, undead, whatever its just a name they are the bad guys and are essentially zombies. they refuse classification to some extremely violent games but let others slide without any problem its strange.

the cut version of left 4 dead contains far less blood splatter, you cant shoot off limbs and dead bodies disappear. oh and this is a strange one they removed infected police officers from the game because there was a problem with shooting authority figures. if i'm not mistaken i killed many an authority figure in gta4 so thats a little puzzling.

the core gameplay is still there but from what i've seen it feels a little off. the disappearing bodies really destroy the illusion of being in the game and your weapons feel like they have no impact at all.

Ohh man those are retarded changes. well worth importing it. I certainly wouldnt be one to complain about GTA 4 but man if any of these stupids F!@#$%ers actually really cared about what is deemed violent I think that killing cops, pedestrians and the fact that you could have sex with prostitutes then shoot them in the head afterwards should have factored in there. somehow I think some zombie madness would be far less inspiring to young serial killers right?. I mean really it could be good for them. as this video proves.

yeah the gameplay is simple, its just run and gun and survive the zombie apocalypse and thats it. but it is so much fun. there are so many zombies coming to get you that it really gets hectic and it is a fight to survive. it can really get challenging and get your heart pumping especially on harder difficulties. And on the hardest difficulty you have to play online with three other people and utilise teamwork or else you will NOT survive.

i may be a little biased because i love zombie horror movies but the game really is fun.

I just find that kind of gameplay gets dull fast. I kinda think that gaming these days is geared more towards kids hoped up on 5 redbulls with ADD. I like strategy in my games not just mindless bloodshed.

WellI know someone who used a Proxy on steam and grabbed through steam and bought the US version befor the censored version was announced, so im curious to find out if he gets the US or the Australian version.


I am not a fan for L4D anyway, I played the first one ont he 24 hour free day steam had awhile ago and that was literally enough for me to get sick of the game... and I played the demo of L4D2 and that was enough for me to get sick of that I dont know what, just doesnt hold my interest for long.

Just an update, an easy way to get the gore version of l4d2 is to use a proxy, I knwo this works as a friend of mine did it and has the full gore version.

I've heard there are other methods as well, but I haven't got it so I haven't tried any. I've spoken to people who have played the uncensored version in Australia though.
