Hey, I’m trying to integrate 3D objects with a picture in 3ds max 7.

I’ve created a plane object that represents the table-plane and another representing the floor in the picture. Both planes have a shadow/matte material applied to them.

Problem:
Shadows from the 3D-objects on the table-plane are also being projected strait through the plane and on to the plane representing the floor!
How could I avoid this from happening?

Could there be a material that works like a shadow/matte material, but without letting trough the light and shadows?

Really hope someone could help me resolving this problem! smile.gif

That's odd, they shouldn't project through. Off the top of my head, what if you swap the table plane for a box?

In the lights you are using you "should" be able to "Exclude" an object from casting shadows.
