Hi,
For more realistic effects, I want to “build” my robot with muscles like “i-Robot”.
But I don’t know how to animate those with elastic effect according with the animation and movements of my robot. Maybe the solution is to do it using reactor.

Can someone guide me - step by step if possible - to do that.

Thank you very very much.

Thierry

I just made a quick video of another method I've used in the past.
You can use standard max bone objects and rig them to link into a skeleton then squash and stretch like a muscle. Its got its limitations but it might work in this particular case.

sorry no sound. let me know if it needs some extra explaination.

I just uploaded it to youtube but its so blurry you can't really see the text.
see if you can understand it, and I'll try this HD video hosting place that was mentioned in another thread..

Hi,
ok, I will see if it helps me.

I think in advance that it maybe does'nt help me in my case...Because the elastic effect is function of the robot's movements...

Anyway, I thank you very much, and I will let you know.

Regards.

well yeah it should work, you link the stretchy bone rig into the robots IK arm and the rest is for free.... you could even add a mesh select with soft selection and then a flex mod for a bit of secondary motion.
