Hello!

Would you say that Vray is the best programme for lighting effects? Why/why not?

Thanks!

I work with 3D architectural renderings with [Link to www.3darkitektur.dk,] but also character and industrial animation with dk.lazyanimation.com.

if i understood you correctly than i think that Maxwell render is the best for lights, well it's called "The light simulator" grin.gif

It really depends on the purpose. what type of renders you want to achieve. I use vray everyday and find that it delivers good fast results
for tasks like global illumination, reflection refraction, glossyness and cached lighting for animation
but I often use several different renderers to create all the layers in a final composite.
You can't go wrong if you have access to max's scanline, mental ray, and Vray in your toolkit.

Maxwell is certainly worth a look if you are interested in rendering photo realistic images as it very accurately simulates the way cameras work with light. Theres almost no room for cheats though and if you need a renderer for production vray and mental ray are the better option.

You'll get the best results from the one you understand the best and spend the most time on. Most renderers out there have demos so maybe try a few and see what results you can come up with and how easily you can pick up the processes.

What Steve and Tyson said. I personally prefer Vray due to it's lightning blending and smoothing out very gently where it has GI enabled. but everyone likes different effects, and i'm all in for realism. you could try different rendering systems as everyone says, best go smile.gif
