This is to help jas with her original image here

Overall it is a good image, check my image for crits smile.gif Hope this helps. I love this stuff so feel free to pick my brains. The reason her butt is so important is because it is the focal point of this image. It needs to be the best part, then the face. The image overall is a bit to dark. The only other crit I have that I did not include in my image is the hair seems a little big in proportion with the head. Maybe try making it a little smaller at the top left. smile.gif

As for making it fit into a colored background I think the best thing to do is have your image be black and white instead of sepia and then have the background image be very dark in the center and fade out to color towards the edges.

P.S It should say " I have changed the Gamma on the copy to bring out the details and eliminate some of the shadows"

Trying to make an animation which is very strongly 2d/drawing to show off my skills as a matte painter, environment and texture artist. It'll also be composited in AE for some extra pizazz grin.gif

The links didn't work. You don't need to use the tags. Just copy and past the link we take care of the rest smile.gif

The changes you made where exactly what I was trying to say. It looks so much better. I also really like the color version. I just played with the gamma again in PS and I think the skin tones have too much contrast.

Check out the image I have added and compare it with yours. I think the skin tones are far more realistic in my version. Once the skin tones are fixed you are pretty much done. Great work jas smile.gif

Just an added note. All I did was paint over the skin tones in solid color and then use that as my selection to effect the gamma. You will have to repaint the shadows between the legs etc in a few other places. But try to use dark shadows sparingly.

Thanks for all your help Jamie its much appreciated smile.gif without going into too much detail the basic premise of my animation is that it begins with the pond scene (already uploaded here into my gallery) as a painting in a gallery, which comes to life (with a peacock in the foreground). The peacock flies out and transforms into an illustration which is revealed to in fact be a tattoo on my said showgirls shoulder. She winks and the camera zooms out and everything turns black and white and its a film projection. the idea being linking visual-performance-body-film art with animation and 2d digital art. Oh and its 10 sec long, and i have around 3 weeks to have it finished. Eeep.
