Hey dudes. I have been looking for jobs here in Sydney and all in one week I suddenly recieved a deluge of responses to my reel. First Ivolve studios in Sydney have interviewed me for a position as a lighting texturing and compositing artist, today I had an interview at team bondi as a modeller on thier latest game title "L.A NOIR" and finally I have an interview next week at a casino games company (konami)
as an animator/3d artist.
I havent actually nailed any of these things yet but I'm very conflicted about where to put my efforts. I figure the casino games place would be far less stress and probably quite fun, Ivolve is all architecture but its max vray and fusion so the tools are right.
Team Bondi is a Maya house so I would need to step up and take on learning Maya finally. all three are permanent salary positions and all three are asking for a
"prove your worth test" by the end of the week. What do you think I should do???

Team Bondi would be the best option for your career. Adding 3 years of Maya experience to your resume as well as all the max/vray experience would be a huge benefit. It would probably be more challanging to start with but after a while you'd probably get used to it.
The other two have their advantages as well, so it's really up to you. It must be nice to be in that position.

Well, I am very excited but as I say I'm just at the interview stage. I know I should jump in the deep end and take Team Bondi if they offer it to me but I'm still so keen to just keep doing max stuff and have room in my brain for the rest of my life.

Good point. I can't say that I'd jump at a maya job if I could just as easily get a max job that was very similar.

the max to maya jump is pretty easy to make its just a matter of finding the equivalent tool in maya. everything is pretty well laid out and so very easy to find and i've found Mayas help to pretty good. The only thing is when I have to switch back and forth between programs I get really confused on how to pan and rotate around the screen.

so yeah, I would take the team bondi job it sounds the most interesting and the maya experience will only help you in the long run.
and it's a story that might bore you, but you don't have to listen, because I always knew it was going to be like that.
