I call it, "mail box,.... in spring time" [Link to isaacg.net]
As per my last critique this image is...
DX viewport rendered
Normal map with no spec or diff, and a wire frame version.
Thats look awesome. the normal map is really having a big effect on the realism of the object. In fact I think its nicest in the middle image. the surface on a mailbox is pretty shiny and flat really so maybe just make your diffuse a flat blue with the stickers and possibly some orange rust and paint peeling on the corners....
Awsome, that's what im talking about, when you see the details of everything when it's applied to a model. Great work! I only have one thing to say and its about the diffuse map, I think that you should flatten the colour a little bit more and give it less noise, so that it has less spots on it. I found this image on google so that you can reference it and see what I mean, I like the detail on the normal map, but I think that if you take the noise off of the diffuse map, you would be able to appreciate the detail of the normal map more, like on the shaded version of the mailbox where you can see the bumpyness... If you make the mailbox a more solid blue, you'll be able to apreciate that bump more as well.
Whats with the little indent just under the handle? Is that just detail? Or do all your post boxes have that? (Being British here, I've never seen one like that)

well I dunno what you call it, its just a little bit that goes inwards slightly. on your first pics, on the non textured one you can see it clearly, its a square which has been bevelled inwards

Wow, great work. It's great that you know exactly what you want to do and are just going 100% at trying to improve your work. Well done.[Link to www.3dprevis.com]
