Speaking of software that comes out faster than you can keep up with. I just finally moved up from max 9 to 2009 which has this weird bug whenever you click on anything it snaps to a zoomed out perspective view, which is irritating. So I was preparing to maybe move to max 2010 but them WHAM its already 2011 damn this year went fast. or has autodesk been messing around with time travel and stolen their own technology from next year? hmmm, anyway, I just had a look and it does actually seem like this version of max is worth a look. a built in compositor and the long awaited node based material editor plus all the other modelling stuff I still havent used from the last release. Maya isnt such a big deal from where Im sitting, lots of higher end work flow enhancements and its now got max like envelopes in the skinning tool which I never really missed due to its great paint weights tool but would probably be usefull.

I'm also curious, with HTML 5, what new cloud computing web apps will come out that might be related to 3d production.
