I'm thinking this has to be Max related. Ever so often, while working in Max, I get an hour glass and have to wait about 15 seconds before I can proceed. I can see the LED blink on my wireless adapter while I wait.
The only solution I can find is to disable my network connection while using Max, and that sucks. Just closing the browser doesn't work. It has not always been this way. Is there a setting somewhere in Max that got bumped, causing this? I have the communication center set to check for new info once a month.
