Does anyone have any ideas how to go about this? I'm not sure max can even do this.

What I want to do is UV map an object and apply a texture, then apply another texture over the top with a different set of UV's.

For example, have a base concrete texture that tiles, but then add crack maps and dirt on it that are unique and don't tile.

I can do this in OpenGL in realtime, why can't I do it in max! haha.

You can use up to 100 sets of UV coordinates in Max. I'll have to do a little digging to find the info, but I'll get it to you, unless someone beats me too it.

you just add a second uvw map or unwrap uvw mod and set it to use mapping channel 2. then all the maps you use in a material need to use mapping channel 2 aswell. you can mix things together using mix or blend material.
