ok im in multi sub object mode with a square i need to map 1 material to 1 side and another to another side,
the reason i need this is i may need to tile 1 side more than the other so i need to use more than 1 uvw map so what i do is goto edit mesh,surfaces,choose the surface select map channel 1 create a uvw map make sure that it is channel 1 add material then i can only tile that material in the material editor not the uvw editor so thats 1 side done with 1 minor complication. i then repeat this for the other side making sure that channel 2 is selected for the new uvw and material but nothing and ive tryed it the other way as well instead of creating a sub object just using all the channels in the material editor heres a link of what i want but this guy only shows you 1 uvw editor.. any help would be greatly appreciated thanks

Are you using different materials for each side, or is it the same material with different tilling?

different material on all sides like doing the inside of a 4 room building for a game, call of duty 4 the buildings on that game

yeah changed ids on both material amd uv ids

only 1 object the house but many walls inside

I see from the other thread that you've solved this, but I actually meant have you changed the material ids of the individual polygons on the object?

i think the easiest way would be for me to ask you how would you multi map a 4 room building with different textures on each wall
