Awesome job. great mood and lighting. nice sound too. I kept expecting some mad creature to come lumbering out of a doorway.
My only real crit would be that it starts out great, theres a strong sense of tension and then in the last 3rd or so it sortof just meanders off
like the camera man got bored and just pointed his camera off into space for a while. maybe you could do something like have the character suddenly hear a menacing growl and quickly look backwards to see the shadow of a beast or something scary ( a shadow so you don't actually need to model any beast of course) yeah, basically some sort of climax to the tension you build in the first half. I realise you say the ending isnt written too. but those are my thoughts. Nice work. its a great way to view all the hardwork of building that set. really puts you into the setting much more than a still image could.
Thanks guys. Yeah I know about the camera movements in the end. And again, this was just another training but i hope the tension and surrounding was okay. there are no scary monsters in the lore i write, since its based on Myst
Thanks for the critics, I love making these kind of things.
I really liked the animation, I have never played myst myself but the animation was very video game like and it reminded me of myst graphics from the screen shots I have seen. A climax would be cool like he finds something to break that door open and goes outside or into a new room.
Some things I would change.. would be the tilting on the camera when he opens the room door, and the light inside the room seems too concentrated.. like it seemed like that light was really bright but the room was still very dark.
"I change my mind so much I can't even trust it. My mind changes me so much I can't even trust myself."
definitely, over all the lighting and render/texturing was terrific much better then anything I could do right now
can't wait to see what you come up with.
"I change my mind so much I can't even trust it. My mind changes me so much I can't even trust myself."
Awesome scene, lighting and textures look great. I know it's just for 'training' but it wouldn't be much more difficult to give the viewer something to look forward to.
Just for example, You could have the door open when the switch is turned, and give us a glimpse of something odd in the next room then cut to black, Or have the camera man find the part that was missing from the monitor.
Just some thoughts.

Great work, it kept me watching to the end which is a good start. The sound was great as was the lighting as always. My only crit would be that sometimes the camera moves don't really mimic the motion of the human eyes. Just to be clear I'm not expecting the camera to be flicking around all over the place like your eyes would when you look around a room, but I reckon some of the moves could do with a bit of speeding up.
man the first thing i noticed about the video were the really great sounds and the background score. even in the first few scenes, those soft footsteps and that slow, haunting ambience was very nice. regarding the animation, my only crits would be the lack of direction after the first half of the video.... maybe i'd understand it if i played myst (i've only played riven so far), but a little more natural camera movement to go with the superb sounds like the door creaks, would've just topped it
great job overall

Thank you all so much for your good critics and help. You guys really keep me rolling with those. It helps me greatly to improve on my camera motion works and tweak those as you say. I haven't Played RAMA but I have played all the others. Riven-Myst-Realmyst-Myst III Exile -Myst Revelations- Uru : Ages Beyond Myst - Uru : Path of shell - D'ni Extension
Thanks for all the good comments. Thanks so much. I regard you all.
