Hi!
I'm making a 3d model of a small house. I fooled around with some lights but decided to do all that when the model was finished. So I deleted all the lights and finished the model. Now when I render frames there is a strange red glow inside all of the house, if you look on the outside it looks like there is a red shadow on the house. Check the pic:

If I use select by name (H), there isn't a single light in the whole scene! I have tried to merge the house into a new scene but the light remains..
Need some help please!
peace

press 8 to open up your environment panel and see if there's any red tint in any of the boxes.

When stuff like this happens I've found that a process of elimination is needed.
in your render settings you can turn off maps, shadows, reflections and all thats sort of stuff. Try without maps. then without shadows etc.., maybe you have some hidden lights, maybe you have some ambient lighting as Gustave says, its hard to know without seeing the max scene. wink.gif

From the image provided it looks like a shadow tint. All the red bit are where I would expect shadows to be. However, the lack of lights in the scene confuses me a bit.

If its possible could we have a copy of the scene, or a screenshot of the schematic view.

Thanks for your responses!
If I render with shadows disabled, the light is gone. So there has to be a light source in the scene, but I can't find it.. What are these hidden lights Tyson mentioned? Also in the environment panel there are no red tints.

Here is the max file:

Keep in mind I'm a total noob at 3d smile.gif

Sorry dude. I can't seem to open the file, must be max 2008 or 2009 yeah?
You can set the shadow colour and density in shadow parameters for any light.
but as you can't find any lights, maybe you have lights hidden globally on the display tab (fifth tab across on the top right) or try right clicking and choosing unhide all, maybe they are hidden. Or maybe they are frozen and you have hide frozen checked, also in the display tab. or maybe they are on a seperate layer that is frozen and or hidden.

Or do you use groups? It may be grouped in accidentally with other objects. Looking in the schematic view should show you if this is the case I think.
