I am just picking up 3ds max and am working on a 3d mockup of some product packaging for a client. I connot figure out how to apply the bmp map for each side of the box. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

The method is called UVW Unwrap.

I learnt it from this site:

Another alternative is to apply differrent material ids to each side of the box and use a multi/subobject material to apply the bitmaps. Either way is fine.

Or the real hack way,

convert to editable poly
make different materials for each face
select a face and set its material
repeat for other faces.

Apparently you're not meant to do it this way but it worked fine for me for like 4 years wink.gif

Well that way does work fine, I've used it a bit recently when I can't be arsed assigning different material ids. It's just a little bit harder to keep track of all your materials using this method. They're easier to keep track of when they're all under the same banner of the multi/sub material.
