I was playing with particle flow systems this morning and decided to render a scene with my robot moving and pouring out empty shell casings everywhere. All that's left to do is come up with a good way to do the mussel blast. Tell me what you think... [Link to www.3dartconcepts.com] and click on animation gallery to see the robot.

Great work, 2 suggestions:

Bullet cases would look better if they were gold and you really need muzzle flash to create the illusion that the guns are really firing.

It looks cool but you do need to have a bit more of a realistic premise for it to be firing to complete the illusion. such as quick stop start motions as if its shooting at several targets fed into it via sattelite or something. I realise a minigun type thing takes some time to get spinning but in terms of snappy animation timing. short controlled bursts then a quick movement with a small "bounce" as its stops then another burst would look good. if you get my drift.

It's looking pretty good. I agree with Tyson about the improvements you could make though. How were you thinking of doing the muxxle flash?

I'm in Colorado now getting ready to go do some skiing for a few day, but I am off of work all next week and I plan on honing my skill in particle flow.

You should, he's awesome with particle flow and Max in general. These tutes may help you, but if you really want some good info, get one of his books.

Looks great! When you get the muzzle flash worked out, I think a quick close up of the blazing barrels and cartridge eject would be nice.
