Hi started on my next low poly character and I thought I would post as I go for this project that way if anyone has any tips the alterations would be easier to take care of.
Im going to try and keep each picture by day (tho I tend to procrastinate and work only a few hours at a time

).
Right now im on day three and my characters mesh is almost in full form, im about to move onto his armor and I was wondering if anyone has any tips on how I should approach that. I have heard theres a few ways one to extrude off the body and one to add the pieces to the mesh but im not sure what would be the best way in this case.
Also my poly count is a little higher then I had anticipated, about 300-500 polys to much and thats without armor so does anyone have tips on how to lower poly count as well? I was thinking cleaning up edges in the neck/finger/toe/teeth could help with this but im not exactly what tool I would use, just edit poly/edge select/remove?
Edit: Here is day four which was actually just a couple hours before work wiping up a rough draft of my armor and laying out basic textures before UVW mapping
Edit2: Ok now I have finally finished wielding all of his armor on. I don't recommend making armor separate if you are going to have to wield at an angle like I did >< that was annoying but atleast it made things easy to set my Mat ID's up for Unwraping, next is setting up textures.
Edit3: Day 6 I have my Character Mapped and ready for rigging.
