hello mates, im wondering if anyone has heard about the newest version of mudbox, i saw it yesterday and i was like wow, personally i think its a great tool when it comes to modelling an detailing i really think Zbrush should be worried...

Sounds great, I never really got into mudbox or zbrush, its something I might have to explore.

I tried Mudbox once but never really got into it all that much. It is a very good scuplting tool though.

Well Mudbox is not free, in my opinion its very helpfull to get into detailing and even modelling, and you can export the normal maps or displace maps to get that detail in Max, but is not a complete program for rendering, texturing and all that, think about it as a tool along with Max.

It doesn't sound like a huge jump like zbrush2 vs zbrush3. And i don't think i would need mudbox rendering at that level for viewport effects. But i'm glad they're making the improvements on the basic workflow.
