hi all

I'm trying to create a tent in 3dmax after creating the consutruction with lines I grouped them all together and went to the lines rendering options and put the wire thickness to 4 and segments to 24 but when I render it the screen is black but if I creat another line with these settings the line shows.. how can I do this for the other lines?

I uploaded the file if anyone doesnt understand what I mean

sup dude...welcome, im a newb here too...i seen your file, checked a couple of the lines out..On the right side click the tab labelled "Rendering" above "Interpolation", well in the "Rendering" tab, select the "Enable In Renderer" and "Enable in Viewport" check boxes...and you'll be good..

Thanks for the help but it didn't seem to work confused.gif

I think the problem is that with the settings it doesnt seem to apply them to the lines I previously created but if I drag a out a new line and render it, that line will show

I did the same thing as Samurai and it works fine. Heres my process:

1. Open the file, render, nothing appears

2. Ungroup the lines so I can select them individually, I select a line and tick the two boxes

3. Render, it appears

4. I repeat for more lines, it works

I think the problem you are having is this:

There is no overall option to make lines appear

Each line has its own settings, so you can turn some on and some off

What you are doing is getting the "new line" tool and setting the settings for new lines that will be created

You need to click on each of your previous lines and set them on individually

I hope this helps.
