Here's what my new oil derrick looks like so far.
the textures are bad because i didn't take time to apply them properly, but otherwise, what do you guys think of the modeling?

the pics are all from different stages of completion in order from left to right.

i'll try to. my main issue is finding good reference images of this kind of oil pump, to get an idea of how the mechanics look and work.

It might be a good rigging exercise to try and get everything moving in unison together automatically.
