I just heard today that, the good old US of A might not be able to fix the oil spill in the Gulf of Mexico after a YEAR FROM NOW!
They aren't sure how much oil is down there. (~2100 million gallons)
They aren't sure how much is coming out; it seems to be more each time they recheck.
All they have are guesses.

I always knew my country would end all life on the planet, in one fell swoop. I just didn't know we'd start by killing off the Oceanic ecosystem.
----
Why can't they just drill shallow holes around the site and blast the area in a way that caves in the oil passage?
That sounds pretty simple to me.

I'm not to familiar with this, I have heard about it. But I don't watch the news as much as perhaps I should. However, I'm sure they is a way to resolve the problem and minimize damage as much as possible.

Sure they will. It's only been spilling for a month solid. They'll have something figured out in a few more. nod.gif

By the way, some say it's spilling at 4 million gallons a day.

I guess, by the time this it really starts showing up in your news, on that side of the world, I think it's going to be too late.

By the way... It only takes one tea spoon of oil to poison an entire ship's water supply. Fish can take a bit more than we can, but how much more?

I agree that is is a terrible situation, but I do not really see how the public can help? Other than donating money to help with the clean up.

Like a plummer.

It's a simple as "collapse the mine". The United States should be really good at that.

It's terrible. They say it's going to continue until the Fall when they think the relief wells might stop it. Of course there's a chance that won't work either.
