Hi,

has been a while since my last posting^^ I'm working more on cars right now and I'm practicing on the Fiat500 Tutorial. I encountered following Problem: I wanted to make the frame for the windshield a bit edgier but when I am chamfering the edges in the corners and look at the result with Meshsmooth the faces around the windshield frame are overlapping over the edge of the frame itself. View pictures for example what I am talking about. I started modeling another car and I've got the same problem there just at another spot. How can I solve this problem? I tried to chamfer the surrounding edges and worked with smoothing groups.. but nothing has helped so far.

PS.: Sorry, wrong area... perhaps a mod or an admin could move this thread into the right one frown.gif

Try adding a few extra edges across (not along) the inside of the frame of the windshield. It's hard to explain without pictures so let me know if you don't understand.

Mmhh... I tried this in different ways now but it only made the problem smaller, it didn't solve it completley... May be better if you could send me a pic.

The first pic is too unclear but i don't know how to delete it. The second pic tries to show where i've made the additional cuts. The third pic show the result of those cuts and how it was before.

Your edge flow looks a bit messy which could be causing problems. Make sure your edges go all the way around the support bit and don't just stop at a specific point.
