I've posted a new animation on my site. Played around for a few minutes and made some cool looking bubbles. P-Flow is randomly pulling from a group of geosphere's animated with noise. Used a V-Ray material for the bubbles and turn off shadows and receive shadows. [Link to www.3dartconcepts.com] (Click the link and select "Animation Gallery"wink.gif.

Nice they look very cartoonish, it would be cool to see them reacting to an object, say something fell into the water and the bubble accumulated around it or something.

Ok, I did what you suggested.. I also tweaked the material and added particle flow to a torus as it splashes into the water. I also added sounds... I think it looks pretty good. Just click on the link above again to view the animation.

very cool, Looks 10 times better now. My only comment now would be what is creating the bubbles.. I mean other than the torus falling into the water? also some speed an size variation in the bubbles might add to it a lot. Great work rick.

Thanks Jamie. I'll vary the size and speed a little more to see how it looks. I appreciate the feed back.

Me too. I can never come up with enough ideas for using it.

your site is amazing dude good work!
also i noticed that the bubbles seem to start before the torus appears ?
and why is the torus generating bubbles at all?
i like the caustics, but couldn't see the bubbles clearly enough they were moving pretty fast!

throw an object with enough force into some water and you will see bubbles.

I have re-rendered. I randomized the size of the bubbles more and slowed them down. Most objects that fall into the water push oxygen down with them creating small bubbles.

even if the object is such that it doesn't release air into the water?

it drags air down with it from the surface.

The whole scene looks great, except the animation on the torus looks a bit odd. I think it would either just float back up to the surface or down to the bottom instead of yo-yoing like that. Keep up the good work though, the bubbles that are emmited when it splashes into the water are very realistic looking.

Thanks Steve. I agree with that. I may change it one last time and have different shaped objects fall in at different times. Have some sink to the bottom and some float back up. I mainly just started this to show the interaction of mesh to particle flow. I appreciate all of the comments from everyone and I am trying to practice from every angle to get a good end result. You guys really drive me to do better work and I appreciate it greatly.

It looks really awesome but just to critical, I think the animation lacks a goal. the animation needs to be saying something and the effect needs to just support it rather than the other way around. I realise you are practising particle flow but I think the final result would be even more impressive if there was a reason for the action taking place. like your match lighting the candle. that had a great little idea behind it and the effect wasnt the only thing to take away from viewing the work.

Ok, I added more objects to the animation and up'd the friction on them to make the bubble drag a little across the surfaces. Only glitch is that my sphere somehow got popped to the front of the camera for the last couple of seconds.. I'm just not sure if I want to do another 2 hour render or not.. This is only like "Take 10"...lol Let me know what you think.

good bubbles and the immersion of the objects is better now.... i think it would be better if you showed clear water first, then when the first object is immersed, it generates bubbles, and then it continues with second object etc....because as of now, the bubbles start before anything else, and you don't really notice the fact that the object generates bubbles by being immersed, because there are bubbles all over the place that have nothing to do with the objects.....

I reduced the main bubbles from 8000 to 1000. Check it out.
