Hey guys im totally new to 3d but being new im learning fairly quickly. I have made a 3d beer model . I got the tutorial at [Link to www.cgarena.com] .. On that very page he says he uses Vray Materials for the label. I havent heard of this and kinda curious on what I need to do. MY beer bottle is going to be Bud Light beer and the only thing i found on that was over at Falling Angel ( [Link to www.fallingpixel.com] ) .. Is this what I need in order to finish my little project up? Please let me know and thanks for your time

If you have copy of vray when you enable it as the active renderer you will get a new material that is optimised for vray. "VrayMtl" . It says in the vray documentation that the v ray material allows for better physically correct energy distribution in the scene. It also renders faster and has more convenient access to reflection refraction parameters.

That tutorial is good, makes me want to do a still life too.

He's got a fairly tricky way of doing the label where he is using a different mask for each colour but I suppose you could just scan a Bud label and use that.

one simple way to map a label is to use mix map and have a mask for your label in the mix amount.

It all gets pretty tricky when you have refractive glass and liquid inside etc...

Let me know if you want a detailed explaination of how to mask and place the label.
