After showing samples of a rough draft to my potential client, I finally got the go ahead to model and animate their project. This couple and their daughter are building a castle in Missouri that will hold weddings and special events. I will be modeling the entire ground with the exterior of the castle and then modeling the chapel within, along with a couple of other designated areas. I'm guessing it will take me about 3 or 4 months in my spare time to get it done. This will allow them to market it before it will be completed in August of 2010. This has also secured my wife's photography business to be the preferred photographer for the location. I'm excited to get started. I'll be going out in a couple of week to get more detailed pictures and take measurements. I will be making this to real world scale. Here are a couple of sample picture we took while we were out there last month. I'll be posting my progress for crits "here". I'll also be working on their web site.

Sounds like it could be a good little earner for you and your wife. What's the castle made out of?

We'll I think I have the basic shaping done.. Time to move on to windows and doors.. Then I'll work on the fancy trimmings....

Next, after that will be the interior of the chapel area and stair cases leading up to the lofts.

Mercy, what did I get into?

Epic stuff. Are the interiors and exteriors all in the one scene or are you faking it?

They are all in the same scene.. I was really surprised to find that the measurements were right on when I started the interior.
