Here's what I've been working on lately. Not competely happy with it, there a re a few minor things that are bugging me such as the look of the texture on the little branch coming off to the right and the translucency of the petals. I'll keep tweaking it until it looks right and then maybe put in in an indoor scene. Any comments? [Link to www.3dprevis.com]
Thats really nice, lots of subtleties, perhaps a few droplets on the leaves or petals would be a good touch. I'd open the flower up a bit too curve the outer petals more.
Nice to hear from you. I was gonna put some droplets on the leaves but thought they may look out of place in an indoor scene. I won't rule it out though.[Link to www.3dprevis.com]
I agree with Jamie about the stalk appearing too thick. That might just be as the leaves are quite small in comparison to the flower itself. The smaller branch seems to jut out perpendicular to the stalk which seems odd to me also.
Do the leaves have ragged edges as well? It is hard to see from the size of the image. If you could add some light above to detail the centre of the flower, it would sell the image further. Maybe drop a few petals as well?
Keep up the good work
Like this giant fish in a bear suit. He would be horrible. Look at him go!!
Great idea with the petals. The final image is going to look quite different to this one and I have already changed a few of these things such as the lighting. What do you mean my ragged edges? Are you saying they look ragged, or do you mean the jagged edges that some rose leaves have? [Link to www.3dprevis.com]
