Hey all,

Ok, I'm up to the stage where I'm about to rig the face for expressions and something hit me.

I have two character for my short animation and I was wondering, before I rig their faces (with default-named helpers) should I first bring both character into the same scene?

I don't want to end up merging later and having to rename all the helpers and shapes.

Oh dang, I need to rename the bones as well >_>

But yeah, should I merge them first before doing facial rigging?

Also, since when you merge a scene into another, their materials don't actually appear in the Material Editor, is it best if once I merge the files, I bring in their materials into the new Material Editor? In case I need to fix some stuff?

Thanks

Ok, materials first, you don't really need to bring those materials into the material editor unless you need to change them. You won't lose anything as long as they're still applied to your models. Just use the little colour picker thing to bring them into the material editor.

As for the naming of stuff, it may sound like a bit of a chore but it's a good idea to use individual names for each object (bones, helpers and all) and not rely on default names. It may take longer but it will save a lot of confusion.
