Alright the time has come to get this thing done so instead of perfecting everything I whipped up an animation pretty quick. I never fixed my jacket and it turned out there were problems with my vest 2 >< both fly off with any real movement.. so that changed the animation up alot.. You'll notice how lazy I was with the special effects rotoscoping pretty quick I was going to do more detail and make the orbs rotate but no time XD.gif. Anyway heres the animation [Link to www.youtube.com] some things I liked about the turn out was some of the lighting even tho it was done quickly it came out ok, and how well the song matched up to some of the transitions.

Edit: I replaced the video with an updated version the embeded video is in a post below.

It's a bit of a bugger about the cloth not working, you should have probably just got rid of the cloth modifier and let his clothes just stick to him. In future I'd say try a simpler project and really try and nail it rather than doing a massive 5 minute animation. As you said, you ran out of time and needed to fix stuff, it might have been easier if you'd chosen something a bit simpler and shorter. Did the project require a long animation?

No it really didn't it had to be 30 seconds with some biped character movement and well.. that sounded boring so I got a little over ambitious tongue.gif then I hadn't expected so many problems with the cloth which I couldn't help but use after tinkering with it so much.

Next project ill definitely go shorter and focus more on making it look nice.

Yeh, it's pretty easy to get carried away, I remember when I started out always wanting to do long complex animations. It is fun doing that kind of stuff but you end up with 3 minutes of ok work when you could have spent the time on one still image and got it to look really good.

i wish you'd spent more time on perfecting this scene, cos it has some real potential. it's surreal, and has very good music to go along with it. the scene as such is a real good idea, but i wish you'd had more time to do justice to it.
like gerard said, maybe a shorter animation would have given you more time to work on perfecting that character and his movements, cos that's where this falls short.

thank you smile.gif I really liked how the scene turned out myself but I haven't worked much with texture or lighting. I wanted to make the background cooler some orb design and I wanted to put in some atmospheric effects to dirty up the scene. Ill probably go back and fix up the whole project some time when I find some time and I have more experience with Max. I definitely will if I ever figure out what happened to his clothes i'm pretty sure it has to do with the stitching.. I just don't get why his button down shirt works perfect but his vest and jacket bug out.

Edit: I finished up with my other final alittle early so I was able to touch up his walk cycle a bit sense this was a character animation project I felt it was important.. so now his motion is alot more fluid then before kinda the dream like floating I wanted but still not perfect.
