There are many versions of max, each with their own shortcut keys (unfortunately). It would be nice to have a sticky or a page with a list of all the basic shortcut keys (about 100 at least) from v6 to 2009. I think this would be a useful tool for those who are tutoring and learning.
This isn't a big deal. Personally I just open up 3dsmax 2009 but if I'm helping someone in gmax or an early version, I have look it up. But to have everything in one place would be nice.
Do you have a list? if you do I will be happy to make it sticky if you post it up. Please support us and post a [Link to www.digitalartsfront.com] on your website.
thanks... some of those were given to me when I was starting here... when I ask for shortcut keys so I shared some I have too...
Started Max last September 2008
here's a question, i have 7 button mouse, is it possible to assign couple of hotkeys to my extra buttons, like undo and redo? i was able to find only for 2 buttons and mouse wheel, left key, right and wheel, and i want to make some use of rest of them.

i went to customize / user interface / keyboard and for an example, i selected Undo (ctrl+z default) and tried to assign a mouse key, it just poops "&" sign when i press my mouse key, i saved and try it and it's not working, am i doing something wrong or am i just stupid for those tings haha
this is my mouse [Link to www.trust.com] and i want to assign undo and redo to those two side-keys

My mouse has two modes it uses for each button. One is the standard MS mode that has a higher compatibility with other programs. The other is a proprietary mode that works great (and looks prettier) when used on browsers and file directories, but is less compatible.
See if your mouse drivers have compatibility settings in the control panel.
i have a similar, a mode button with 3 settings for each key, i got some drivers working on windows xp x64, not the original ones, and all of mouse's buttons are working properly in windows and browsers, but not in max, i'll have to look into that.
Thanks isaacq
