So, I took my time and didn't rush things but I finally finished the new Solidstrike.

Would like to hear what you think about him and what I could make better. In case you have it at your tips I would like to have a tutorial how to create/render car lights.

I can't see much detail in the model because it is too dark. Could you render out a daytime version so we can all see what is going on?

Sorry it is way too dark. You might want to look for a monitor calibration tool.

Yeh, a bit more ambient light would be good. Looks ok from what I can tell but it is hard to see the details.

Not bad man, I can see you have gone to a lot of effort. This is your first modeling project if I remember correctly. Very well done. You have a nice amount of detail in your mesh and you can clearly see parts of the car in the bot model.

Crits: Textures. You really need to look at unwrapping next. Currently you are just using standard shaders and it shows.

Good luck smile.gif

The models look great. Some good textures would definately improve it, but it just depends on how far you want to take the project. If you're willing to put in a bit of hard work I'd also suggest learning the ins and outs of a renderer like vray or mental ray so you can really bump up the quality.

Thanks for the crits.

@Jamie: It's not quite the first robot I made. It's a while ago I modelled a Tranmsformer named Skyfire. You can find him in this forum, too.

@Steve: Most likely mental ray, I couldn't get Vray running on my system and I don't know why... But I will keep that in mind wink.gif

I took the advise and texture Solidstrikes upgrade. I'm playing that character in an forum based online RP and there he got a jet pack. Of course I modelled that to and this time I tried to texture it. Hope it's not that bad ^^

Yeh, you've done a good job with the texture, especially on the jet pack. With the wings, I think they need a bit of work. Do transformers rust? Or is it dirt?
