Being a digital arts forum I thought you guys might be interested to read/watch this interesting piece of history

"In 1980, Boeing employee Loren Carpenter presented a film called Vol Libre at the SIGGRAPH computer graphics conference. It was the world's first film using fractals to generate the graphics."

That's pretty incredible for 1980. Imagine how good it would be seeing that for the first time back then.

Yeah, it would have blown everyone away, it would have been an incredible moment. Could you imagine the anticipation of the guy who made it!!
