Hello, I'm new here and heard this would be a good forum. I'm struggeling for weeks now with a studio lighting setup in 3ds max with vray. If you check the image, the first one is what I'm aiming to achieve, the second one's my own render. I think my chairs look dull, and the left ones got a lack of contrast. Also, the reflectioncolor of my own renders are quite colored, while the reflection in the examples are more like white. It's hardly to see but I bet it's there. I use graytones in the reflection falloffmap, so I guess that can't be it.
Further, I use one vraylight because I'm quite sure the example does the same. Allthough it doesn't sound common I use skylight to get that evenly lightened left part. I positioned the vraylight in many ways but I just can't get that example look. Anyone can help?

It's hard to tell, they're pretty subtle differences that you're talking about. Was it from a tutorial, do you know what material settings they used?

Yeah, its a pretty good job really, they look very close, without fiddling around with the scene its nearly impossible to guess what might be wrong with the settings.. maybe you could try something like pushing the lights up high and using a vray camera with exposure control to get brighter reflections.
Is there some reason why you are trying to match this image exactly?. Theres not much you can really do except fiddle forever with minute adjustments until its nearly right. i would bet that if you modelled the chair more like the original and used the same colours you would almost have it nailed.

Thanks. I hadn't told yet but in the meanwhile I have found the solution so the problem is solved, at least I'm satisfied with the looks of it now.

Would you be able to post the solution? And also the finished result?
