Something I've been working on over the last few days.
Dont know exactly what I have planned for it yet, but I suspect it will have lots of wires/tubes going everywhere for that awesome cyberpunk feel. Please support us and post a [Link to www.digitalartsfront.com] on your website.
Thanks man, I think I might be. Come see me if you feel like getting a clone made up.Please support us and post a [Link to www.digitalartsfront.com] on your website.
Thanks Ravi, I'm not sure what they are going to be yet. Some kind of sci-fi thing. Please support us and post a [Link to www.digitalartsfront.com] on your website.
Could be, if I could be bothered modeling an alien.nnThe glass and liquid is just vray material, glass with default IOR 1.6, liquid is IOR 1.33 with some blue fog colour. Please support us and post a [Link to www.digitalartsfront.com] on your website.
Yeah I'm gonna try and filth this one up as much as I can. Got any tips aside from the usual scatter, vray dirt? Please support us and post a [Link to www.digitalartsfront.com] on your website.
ever used advanced painter? I think I have mentioned it before. I use it all the time for this type of thing. lets you pick a bunch of objects then scatter them interactively with each click. then swap to another and keep clicking etc..
it has random rotations and offsets, you can randomly scale the result with blurscripts "random transform" then randomly assign materials with another blur script
"random mat" which assigns materials from the editor based on a range such as 1-12 etc...
download from scriptspot and maxplugins.de.
or, model lumps of geometry into the corners, just planes ramping though the corners with noise, then texture with a photo of rubbish and use displacement based on the rubbish map .
(ie: pull a grey scale from the image in photoshop and push the contrast in 16bit mode and blur it a bit aswell, then use in a displace modifier or vray displacement mod) Use a vray dirt map to mix black into the rubbish material aswell for extra contast.
AND, or, drop a bunch of low res textured bits of metal wood and rock with reactor.
And place some key pieces of crap around for compositional flare.
I wish I had a whole data base of textured pieces of crap for just this reason.
Thanks for the tips. The \"crap\" database sounds like a good thing to have Please support us and post a [Link to www.digitalartsfront.com] on your website.
Vents with steam, some sort of control unit on the wall, maybe a vommiting snake. You know, stuff you'd expect to see in a standard everyday test chamber.[Link to www.3dprevis.com]
Steam vents ofcourse! Its a staple in eerie scenes. I'm thinking a few displays glowing about the place. There will be some type of creature in the tube eventually too. Please support us and post a [Link to www.digitalartsfront.com] on your website.
Thats looking really cool. I'm not sure about the splines in the foreground they don't seem to have a believable purpose, someone would trip, maybe if they were connected to the ground with little clamps or something. Also have you ever used the blur script wirejumbles?. you create a series of boxes of different sizes and run the script to make masses of variable thickness "wires" (renderable splines) connected through them. kinda handy.
I was thinking of having something there in the foreground that those hoses are plugged into, they do look a bit odd just hangnin there in space. Please support us and post a [Link to www.digitalartsfront.com] on your website.
Okay tyson I got the blur script pack and can make a mess of wires, but how can I get them to be all nice and curvy at the moment theyre just straight point to point lines, tried adding noise mod, no good.
Theres a whole load of cool scripts in there. I use the random transform and random mat. scripts all the time. random mat assigns a set of materials from the material editor to all the objects in a selection. great for making random coloured rocks etc...
I have been looking for a good random mat plugin for such a long time. Will it work for setting random mat ID's to each element of an object? Please support us and post a [Link to www.digitalartsfront.com] on your website.
You also need an array of flashing lights that serve no purpose, possibly some tesla type devices?
And I agree with Tyson, my mind jumped to The Fly when I first saw it. Looking very nice!
I don't know why, but I'd be tempted to have those surrounding a central "thing", as some form of power generator
