i want to be able to bake a texture on a uvw map so i can then import to photoshop add more detail then import back to that map in 3ds max... maya is so easy doing this but having real trouble applying the same thing in 3ds max,i can apply to some of the sides but if its a box and you have 6 sides only 3 sides will come out... 1 light,.. others darker any help please ive solved my other multiple uvw mapping problem out but now on this hurdle

Do the other sides come out darker because they haven't been lit as well as the others? Shadow information is included when you bake a texture so make sure it's lit the way you want it to be lit in game before you bake it. Are you using Render to texture?

That's basically what render to texture is. Create your material with all your diffuse, specular, bump maps etc then use render to texture to create a single bitmap that includes all that info.
