When I was trying to make a fan for a HVAC drawing, my transform gizmo for move switched to this angled gizmo. I tried figuring out with the config on how to restore it back to its original form but had no success. Only way I found on how to fix the issue was to just close 3DSmax and reload it to default again. Is there some way I can fix it without doing the hassle of reloading the program each time it does this involuntarily

You can change the gizmo between move, rotate and scale with the W,E,R keys respectively.
and if you lose the gizmo it could be turned off by accidently hitting the X key.

the transform gizmo is only affected in this way for the move command. Instead of letting me move it up down left right, it has the angle reflecting off of the object as the directions I can move. The other two commands seemed perfectly intact when I had this happen, so it is solely the move command

i think you might have changed to a Local co-ordinate system...... just check and see if the drop-down menu immediately right of the transform icons says "Local" ....if so, change back to "View"
