Hello all

Just putting this out there:

They guys making this film are looking for VFX artists to work on a bunch of shots for this film. It's called Aurora and it's about *spoiler alert* a guy who goes off to rescue his wife after she's abducted by slavers. It's set in a steampunk world set it's quite vfx heavy and if what I've seen so far is anything to go by, the visuals are going to be pretty impressive.

They've made it on practically nothing so there won't be any pay. However these guys have got contacts and I know they're going to push it pretty hard and get it seen by as many people as possible. And at the very least it a chance to work on some cool steampunk stuff that's gonna look great on your demo real. So let me know if your interested.

Thanks for posting this, if I wasn't desperately trying to find work at the moment I would be interested in this. I recommend other users here seriously consider this.

Depends on what you want to do really. They need a fair bit of modeling and texturing done, also compositing as well - stuff like adding muzzel flashes and smoke etc, keying out backgrounds. What are you up for?

well as much as I'd like to do compositing stuff I don't have enough experience for that sort of thing unless they don't mind someone who wants to learn as they go. Otherwise probably modelling and texturing for me. Do they use max or maya?

Maya would be preferable as that's what they've been using but it probably wouldn't be a huge problem if you wanted to model something in max as models are easily transferable. I'll find out what needs doing and get back to you.

Just a little update on this, it's very near completion and actually should be done by the start of next week. I've seen a few little snippets of it and there are some really incredible looking shots. I'll let you know when there's a release date, I think they're going to realease it as a free download.
