yeah as Tyson said, sometimes those installers that support 2009 installs in max 9 folder, i had that kind of problem few times, don't know much about vismaster but do they install material as library's? or do they add an option in max's material editor to load them? if they install mat library's then you can import all the materials you want trough the material editor,

When i run the file VrayArchMaterials2.exe, the installation program asks me if i want to install features for 3d Max 8 or 9. I don't select any of the 2 options and continue. The program finishes to install it and at the end the only thing that i see is a new folder in program files called VisMasters.
Here there is some information about this textures:
uninstall them then reinstall this time checking the boxes for the most recent version of max, even if you don't run it. max 9 for instance. then the next field should give you an option to specify the max 9 directory becuase it wont find max 9 automatically. try that out.
Finally i solved the problem and I'd like to tell you how I did it.
- First, following your instructions, I uninstalled the program and then I reinstalled checking the box for the most recent version of max (3d max 9).I could not choose any directory of 3d max 9 or 2009, but at the end of the installation I saw a new folder in the programm files\autodesk\ called 3d max 9.
_Then I copied the folder "vismasters" (CProgram Files\Autodesk\3ds max 9\scripts\startup\) inside "CProgram Files\Autodesk\3ds Max 2009\Scripts\Startup" and now it works!
