Well I finally broke down and got Vray! VERY VERY nice stuff, uploading now. Just a basic test render, thought I'd share. Check out the modeling in the video, I spent hours on it!

Address to follow.... [Link to www.vimeo.com]

The WIPS part is the 1280x720 version of it! Also added a few more frames for a smoother running video, hehe +400 frames!

Yeah, awsome test! You put vray to the test there!

I have a few animations Im working on, but I cant seem to get rid of the flickering in the shadows whenever I do my animations.. Ill be posting some of the animations Ive been working on soon. Maybe someone knows how to get rid of those things.

To get rid of that flicker you really need to push the sampling up on the irrafience map, set it to like high - animation or very high.

irrafience?... hahahahaha! K! ill give that irrafience a try! My boss rides me when he sees the animation taking as long as a regular highdefinition render... But I guess we can never set our standards down when we work in a high quality environment.. I think i might have to re render A LOT of stuff.. hopfully that will work. Thnx Matt!

Just a point if people arent aware, its true that setting the irradiance map to high animation settings will get rid of flickering but that should only be done for animated objects moving cars, characters etc.. when the objects are static and the camera is moving you can greatly improve render time by caching the irradiance map and adding to it every 10 or 20 frames in the sequence.

set the time segment to render every 25th Nth frame then turn off render final image in the vray global switches, set the irradiance map to multi frame incremental and auto save it somewhere. then load it up and render from file. much faster and very smooth results.
