Ok i jsut read this and being an ATI user doesnt effect me, but people on here might have problems so I though i would post it for you guys
"Gamers who dutifully upgraded to the latest version of nVIDIA's graphics drivers have been met with a rude shock: drastically reduced frame rates in 3D games, and in some cases, complete hardware failure. As it turns out, a coding error in the fan control software has led to widespread overheating in nVIDIA graphics cards, resulting hardware temperatures of up to 104 degrees Celsius.
nVIDIA has admitted that the problem is real, and has advised customers to roll back their drivers until some new and improved, non-hardware-melting drivers can be developed.
"We are aware that some customers have reported fan speed issues with the latest 196.75 WHQL drivers on NVIDIA.com. Until we can verify and root cause this issue, we recommend that customers stay with, or return to 196.21 WHQL drivers. Release 196.75 drivers have been temporarily removed from our Web site in the meantime.""
