So I've been introduced to a new game called Guilty Gear. And ever since then I've been wasting a lot of time learning combos. If you like street fighter you'd probably like this game. It's more fast paced and requires strategy followed by gut instinct. Here's a clip:

Note that this thread wasn't intended to initiate a conversation on Guilty Gear. Instead I'm wondering what game controllers people like to use on their computers, to help me decide what to buy. I would like to use the same controller for PS2.
I've seen some nice looking arcade style joystick pads as well as innovative redesigned PS2 controllers. Your thoughts?

edit:
This game is hurts my hands when using a keyboard.

I use xBox 360 controllers on my PC. They are the shizzle especially for emulation.

Man, I know what you mean a bout hand pain. I used to play Quake with a keyboard,...for hours.

I have a Gemini Recoil retractable controller, cost about 14 bucks I think. It looks like a ps2 controller. Works fine for me but I'm not much of a gamer anymore.

Right now it hurts to type. I was just playing as "JAM" for about 30 minutes.
I think i might go for a ps2 or an xbox controller with a pc adapter.
Right now I'm looking at companies that advertise that their controllers are cross compatible. I assume those would give me the least amount of trouble when I go to conventions and friends houses.

The thread is about me already using a keyboard for a fighting game that's mentioned above.

i sometimes use my ps3 controller with emulators and stuff tis great fun. but for the most part i dont play games on my pc as it cant run anything good anymore.

guilty gears a cool game and was fun for a while but i thought it was bit too insane. with all the crap flying around the screen, projectiles, smoke and special effects it was just too much. i like street fighter a lot better.
and it's a story that might bore you, but you don't have to listen, because I always knew it was going to be like that.

That's unfortunate since the computing and video acceleration power of most high end computers dwarfs all console game systems. Developers seem to prefer to produce games for console systems because of the low piracy occurrences.

x360 doesn't need an adaptor. You can buy a straight out usb version.

I thought I had tried that already. But it could have been an original xbox controller. Thanks.
