it is pretty stupid but there are lots of stories of over reaction like this. children playing cops and robbers using their fingers as guns arrested under a zero tolerance gun policy at schools. a child using a folded piece of paper as a gun arrested. a child arrested for bringing a gi joe sized gun to school. while shocking and completely fucked up I am never surprised when these sort of stories emerge.
