I'm not sure if many people will reply to this - and I'm almost certain that each reply will be totally different (unless everyone on this forum happens to live in the same area)

I am from brighton, and the weather confuses me - Weekend was an unbareable heatwave (I even got a little sunburned booooo). Yesterday was terrential rain, thunderstorms and lightning. Today, well, it was kind of a horrific mixture of the 2 previosly mentioned weather (and according to the radio, the thunderstorm delivered 4 months of rain in 24 hours :-o)

So, my question / point is - what is with this weather? is it summer clothes (flip flops and the like?) or do I pack for winter rain? (even the weather channel was shocked by the heat and rain haahhaa)

Whats it all like where you folk are? are you having similar rain / sun related issues? discuss tongue.gif

It hasn't been anything too out of the ordinary here. Only thing is I'm surprised it not colder. My car is usually completely iced up in the moriningswith the doors frozen shut by this time of year. So far its been maybe twice just a light icing on the windscreen.

Yeh, I've noticed that my car hasn't been iced up much this year. It's been pretty cold at night lately but the days have been nice. Mind you, for me a cold night is 4 degrees C. This may not be cold to other people.

It is really cold where I live right now, unusually so for this time of the year, snow and ice everywhere. Tasmania.

the weather today was way too cold and wet i should have stayed in bed, that would have been nice. It was so cold i wore two jackets, two t shirts, gloves and walked around with an umbrella. i looked bulky and ridiculous and was not happy.
and it's a story that might bore you, but you don't have to listen, because I always knew it was going to be like that.

yeah i did the same, except that my brolly was useless and had holes in it.

Is it just me or are umbrellas the most finiky irritating easy to break things on the planet?

its not just you. they are usless when its windy and only serve to keep your head and upper body dry. My umbrella kept slipping and folding back down so i had to hold it in place. i already looked stupid and that didn't help at all.

Rain caused a water crossing to have more water in it than usual, causing me to get stuck in it with an engine full of water.

Last couple of days have been the coolest Lightning storms I've ever seen grin.gif - Living near the sea means that you can lean out the window and see the storm rolling over the waves (fork Lightning and the likes)

The only other time it was as cool was about 3 years ago when I was living on Uni campus, and had the Souht Downs out the back door (same thing, lightning rolling over hills and huge open fields)

And as for today - not a cloud in the sky, confused much?

You're from England aren't you? I'm hoping you get a lot of rain over in London in the next 2 days.

How rude - why would you wish MORE rain upon us tongue.gif I'm from Brighton (south of London, on the coast) so we are seeing a fair bit at the moment, but (as the other day) its sunny one minute, and literally black sky's the next. Has anyone seen the film "The day after tomorrow" - I think it may be coming true, booooooo, I need Dennis Quaid to come and rescue me (not in a gay way - would just be cool if he busted my door down and was like "I've come to resuce you Dan" haahahaaa)

I'm Australian if that helps for my reasoning behind wanting more rain in London...
