My old guitar never sounded better.

I just bought some Fender "Tex-Mex" pups for my relatively cheap Strat copy (ten years of being unusable). I also replaced the pots and five way switch and reset the neck.

My mind is blown at the difference it all makes. I knocked stuff off the walls this past weekend with a great sound!

I payed 79.00 US dollars for the set of three pups and 45 for the three 250k pots and switch. SUPER CHEAP comparatively, for a practically new kick ass guitar!

For the first time in many years I feel like I'm in the guitar playing business!!!

Anybody got some experience with total sound transformation with either an already nice or cheap guitar?

I've never changed the pickups, but I'm interested to try.

I have Ibanez INFINITY pickups on my rg370, and theyre good for a really higain sound, theyre very hot and have a lot of harmonics and good sustain.

And I just have the stock Ibanez 7s on my rg7321. Not as much harmonics but they definitely have a chunkier sound, more full and rich than the INFs especially down low.

I've really wanted a Fernandes FSK101 for a long time.
