So I've modelled this fantastically high detailed knob (no not male genitalia you sick minded people) but when I go to rotate it it deforms slightly as seem in the movie below:

I have no idea why this is happening, there are no modifiers applied (other than turbosmooth) and it's not a camera distortion it does it in all the viewports. Anyone have any ideas what it could be? Or is it another stupid max bug?

You could have said "door knob" to avoid confusion.
I can't tell whats going on from the movie, often that effect is caused by tranforms interacting with modifiers in the wrong order but you say there isnt any modifiers in the stack. try taking off the turbo smooth then running the reset x-form utility. collapse the resulting x-form modifier and try again. that usually fixes stuff similar to this problem.

I've deleted the turbosmooth and reset x-form but it's still doing it. Might just start from scratch, it probably would have been quicker than the time it took to render the movie, stick it on youtube and post it in here.

It's not actually a doorknob but you're right, maybe I should have said "airline seat tray table release knob." wink.gif
