Why the shadow does not look so smooth? It still like to have tiny grain in the shadow. How to get rid of that?
I've already increase FG Point Density to 0.8

check your light shadow option, test every option there ( shadow type) until you found what is best fit for your requirements.

if you're using a Shadow Map for the light source, you need to sort of get a balance between the Size and the Sample Range parameters... try increasing your sample range in multiples of 128.
i doubt it's a problem with your FG point density.

Hello, I'm having similar problems.

I have a project where I'm animating falling photographs. Here's a video of a test render:

I need help on many things:

-Why are there noise pixels in my renders?
-Why do my renders look like crap. The shadow gradients on the back of the photos are terrible.
-The shadows are terrible and disappear before the picture has settled on the ground.
-How do i get realistic shadows and realistic light, because when the back of a photo isn't facing the light it becomes black instantly and it shouldn't.
-How do I get indirect light?

Any help would be great!

Hey Adam. well that sounds like you're pretty frustrated. edit* ok I just had a look at the clip. I'd say you need more resolution in the shadow maps.
something like 1200 or so. Or use raytraced shadows. As for the weird spots, have you tried to render to a .tga sequence, it might be a compression artifact. just guessing though. smile.gif
