Hi i am looking to make a pair of wings, quite similar to angel wings but am having a little trouble making them look good.

does anyone out there know of a good tutorial i could use for help?

I'm not sure about tutorials but for angels wings I would start by
making the bone structure for a birds wing from reference then create a single feather and place them at key points for each bone. then copy and move the feathers to fill in the gaps over lapping them.

Agreed. I did some wings a while back and that's definately the way to go.
