Heres a quick zbrush sculpt I did today. just a study. low res base in max, zbrush for details and colour map.

God this will be a challenge man. I have never seen I hairless wolf so I can't crit you at this point. Are you gonna add fur?

yeah the fur issue is a problem. I tried painting a fur distribution map but it looked really crap. not sure if I can be bothered persevering with it at this point.

Someone needs to develop a fur system that places hair automatically where it would grow in nature wink.gif

I'd settle for some sort of paintable fur tool. something that could be controlled properly that also renders in vray.
does anyone know of a superior hair plugin?. Ive tried ornatrix before but never really liked it either.

What I used to do was paint my splines in ornatrix and then convert them to hair and fur. I can't remember how I did this but it worked very well.

Nice job Tyson! I like working with VRay Fur, but your right about making the map for it. I need to brush up my unwrapping skills for projects like these.
