Hey guys, i'm gonna be running a few survey's over the next couple weeks to get a better idea of what our users want from this site.

So my first question is, would you consider paying for a premium account upgrade?

1.) Do you feel that the price is fair?
2.) Do you feel that the extra features are worth the money?

If you could please answer in as much detail as possible, suggestions are always welcome. For a list of features please see the following link: [Link to www.digitalartsfront.com]

The price comes out to 15 cents a day which seems fair enough to me.
I think the prize challenges are the best incentive to pay.
Some things that would make the price more appealing.
Model sales and/or sharing.
Material sharing.
Max file sharing.

File sharing is a good idea, however it can cause security issues and so we would have to spend some time writing a system to handle this, we were thinking that in version 4 we would introduce sales, so that the users could sell resources to each other, however that is down the line.

In the mean time we are going to revamp the news system and incorporate digg's api as well as integrate youtube, this is planned for v3.5.

Thanks for the feedback smile.gif

yah..the price is fair...it's ok...btw can we have a password or program or features that will locked our own work so that only the owner can copy his/her works or only the members of the forum have the rights to copy the works of other members only for advice and suggestion purpose ?? so that no one or the outsiders can copy our works...coz there's a lot of people who copy others work and use it in their own benefits and pretend they are the one who do that?? it's only a suggestion..only for our works security??
i wish i can do that too......
i need more practice....

From what you are saying you want us to stop people from right clicking- save as. This is possible, however with the shadows system that we currently have on images it would be incredibly difficult to implement and anyone who is smart enough to read the source code would still be able to access the file.

To be honest if you are going to put any form of work online you run the risk of having it stolen, hence why we have copyright law.

I think maybe people who are beginners may not be as keen to sign up as they probably won't see themselves as having a chance to win the challenges or sell prints. With those two features taken out of the equasion I think $4.50 a month is a bit steep. Maybe a cheaper beginners account as well sometime down the track?

Consider this for a second, we make money from ads, if we take those ads away we don't make money, if you pay the amount we would have made from ads then you don't get to see ads. On top of just removing the ads we added tones of extras, i think to be honest it s a fair price to pay. You also have to take into consideration the vast amounts of bandwidth that get chewed up each month and and the fact that we have to continually pay for that. finally we have to work on this thing pretty much all the time, for the last 4 months we have worked on it almost everyday at least 6 hrs a day, all the while we where not making any money. i think 42 bucks for a year's access to better features and ad free browsing is actually a good deal, especially seen as we are continually in development and those who pay will always reap the rewards of that development before non paying users.

I understand that for people to jump in and pay now might seem like a bit of a risk, but if no one does then we not only have to stop working on the site and find real jobs but in the end we will not be able to afford to keep the site running.

Yeh, I know how much work you've put into the site and how much the upkeep is etc, I was just saying that a beginner won't get full use af all the features which may discourage them from subscribing. I just thought that an extra subscription option that doesn't have those 2 options in it that costs a bit less might actually get more people to sign up rather than having them say "I'm not going to win any challenges or sell any prints - bugger it"

I wasn't having a go at the cost of subscribing, I think it's a fair price. Sorry if it came across that way. smile.gif

I get what your saying man I do, but I feel there are more things to make it worth paying for than just those two things although they are a good. We may be able to drop the price somewhat, we will see what happens.

Well, I agree with everyone else. I'm all for supporting the site and paying annually. I think that the prize system will drive me to push my limits of designing. Thanks guys for all of your hard work in getting all of these systems into place.

So far we've only really heard the opinions of moderators and admin. Anyone else got any thoughts? We'd like to know what you're thinking.

If you consider all the work that was put into this site i do believe that the price is not to expensive, but also i have to agree with Steve.
If i had an opportunity and finances to subscribe i would do it without hesitation, but my situation, and overall situation of my country is pretty f***** up, im 3 months unimployed, live with 4 members of my familly in wich only one is working and has a job, overall financial situation is pretty bad, so paying to subscribe is not an option for me, at least not at this moment, but i do hope that it will change.
I think that this site, members and staff are really great, everyone is friendly and always glad to help, if that's not worth a subscription than i don't know what is..
