Fantastic. I love the light setup especially! Well done, your time spent modeling and texturing paid off! Great Job!

PS_I'm a bit worried about the number of bottles of alchohol?! It reminds me of my past lol!

Thanks grin.gif light setup is quite simple actually, just a mental ray sun with skyportals, GI, FG on high with 4 bounces, that was actually a mistake i accidenty pressed 4 instead of 2. And a bit of playing around in photoshop to get the colors really stand out and to get that soft highlights from lighting

One of the coolest 3D scenes I've ever seen in my life. I could print that out and rub it against my eyeballs, just to give it the exposure it needs! haha grin.gif

Love the reflections in the ceramic tiles! How did you do those? Currently working on a bathroom-scene for work with alot of black granite tiles on the floor and mosaic on the walls. And how did you make that neat brushed metal material on the refrigerator? Everything looks great. A little critique also, the wineglasses look a bit flat, but maybe you wanted to keep down the refractions to ease up on the rendertime? Also you could consider the composition, it looks like the picture was "taken" standing on a ladder. You probably wanted to show the detail on the stove but I think this picture would be more interesting if it were taken from a eye-level or lower perspective. But that's just minor details. Alltogether great job!

Thanks man, great constructive critic, i appreciate it. Ceramic titles are all modeled, just a plane with lots of segments, extruded and chamfered edges, material is mental ray's arch and design ceramics, reflections come from behind the camera because i modeled everything behind in same kind of detail, it was planed to do couple of shoots from that sceene, a kitchen, dining room and sort of living room, later on i decided to leave those and do the kitchen only, now i consider finish them all, probably i will soon grin.gif
Brushed metal on the refrigerator is also arch and design brushed metal with a bit of tweeking, i apologise for not going into details, but i am currently typing from a library and do not have access to my scene.
I considered the Eye-level for the camera but i had some problems with the table and the chairs messing up the shoot, and i didn't want to move them because that would kinda ruin the composition, and also the whole scene looks different when i tried to change the angle and the position of the camera, so my only choice was to render it from above.
I'm currently working on a sorts of a tutorial for mental ray, how i made this shot, render settings and materials, but progress is going slow considering that i work full time, currently working on couple of projects and i don't have direct access to internet from my home, but it will be done soon grin.gif

Anyhow thanks for your comment and crit.

Haha..you don't want to see MY latest interior. My employer doesn't have any 3d visualization programs except SketchUp, so I'm making this reeeeallly detailed interor of a bathroom, and I'm going to present it to the client tomorrow, straight from SketchUp. I'm planning on suggesting that they at least get VRay for SketchUp or I'm gonna threat to quit.

It's free to download, most 3d-artists would probably go "yuck" but it's definitly possible to make good scenes and with VRay as a renderer I'm intrigued to see what results I can get. It just have a very limited toolset and you can't make any primitives, you work with just drawing lines and push/pulling faces.

sounds interesting, i'll definitely give it a try.

I'm learning it, it's not optimal or my first choice of any kind, but it's pretty cost efficient, SketchUp is only $450 or something for a pro licence and the vray render plugin is about $700 (I think it's the first time in history a plugin cost more than the actual application it is made for)

I've been doing some test renders to see what I can get out of it. This is one.

Don't have any experience with it myself and heard that the learning-curve can be a bit steep but would it be an idea to give Blender a try? As far as I know it's free and I saw people do some pretty amazing stuff with it. Don't know if it's suitable for architectural photorealistic stuff though.

edit: Hell got enthousiastic but didn't want to 'steal the thread' - made a seperate (small) post for Blender. wink.gif

Yes they do, but I believe it's a bit less complex than the one for MAX, but I haven't really tried that one out for real yet.

Looks really great Altopais! - in only 3 days?! wow.

Only (upbuilding as always) thing I noticed as a viewer is that the reflective color of the plant seems to look a bit too 'neon'.
